In Loving Memory

Charlie Brown, Attendant
IN LOVING MEMORY
Charlie Brown
1936-2019

With great sadness, we acknowledge the loss of our dear friend and loyal employee, Charlie Brown. Charlie was a dedicated employee on our team for
18 years, he worked until his passing on December 21, 2019. As a proud Navy veteran, he admired and respected every active and veteran service member. Charlie was very involved in his community and will be missed by many. To his wife and family, we thank you for sharing Charlie with us.
He was considered just like family, and we will cherish his memory forever.

IN LOVING MEMORY
LOUISE "MIMI" LICHORAT
1933-2020
Before opening our doors in 1986, Louise was already an important member of our family, as the matriarch of our family. Louise is the mother of Donna DeMarco, and the mother in law of funeral home owner, Michael E. DeMarco. Louise was vital when it came to watching her grandchildren, Brittany and Taylor. Being a funeral home, there are no set hours and that means reliable care at a whim is very hard to find, however, that was never the case because we had our Mimi.  Not only did she care for her grandbabies, she helped create the gardens that are Glenville Funeral Home today. With her son in law's creative nature for hardscaping and landscaping, Louise and her daughter, Donna were the gardeners that planted thousands and thousands of flowers each year. The daughter-mother team won awards across the Capital Region for their work on the grounds! Up until her late 70s, you would see Louise in the garden beds pulling weeds and making sure the property was beautiful for grieving families to find peace and serenity. Since our opening we always added a special touch to help families after the funeral and that was with food. Louise, a second generation Italian American, was raised to know how to make her family's secret sauce. A lifelong native of Schenectady, she knew where to get all the delicious ingredients to make her famous meatballs and ziti. For each family, Louise and her daughter made pounds of ziti and meatballs for the funeral home families to enjoy after funeral services. Her legacy of being a kind, outgoing spirit is passed down to her legacy, and we will cherish her memory at the funeral home forever. A special rock with memories and signatures from some of the hundreds of people who came to say goodbye to Louise is placed in one of her garden beds, where she created beauty. We love and miss you, Mimi. Goodbye for now.....

IN LOVING MEMORY
FOXIE GRIGIO DEMARCO
2007-2019
Loyal canine companion to the DeMarco family, especially her best friend, Michael E. DeMarco. She may have been a dog, but she was a part of our family. Foxie really had no job title at Glenville Funeral Home besides barking at USPS and FedEx employees, and was too diva to be a therapy dog.
Till we meet over the rainbow bridge sweet girl.
