Obituary of Charles H. Lass

Charles H. Lass of Trinity Florida, died Wednesday January 2 after a brief illness.

Mr. Lass was born on February 13, 1927 in Barryville, New York.  He was the son of the late Charles and Veronica Lass.  He married Alice M.Fox, his loving wife, on April 11, 1953 and together raised a family of nine children in Ridgewood Queens, NY.  Before retiring to Burnt Hills, Mr. Lass studied at Long Island University, proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force and had an extensive career in sales. Mr. Lass was a devout Catholic and a member of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Ridgewood.

Mr. Lass was predeceased by his beloved wife Alice M. Lass and his sisters Marion Gunther, Meta Hensz and Jeanne Mac Donald.

He leaves behind is loving children, sons John and his wife Kathy of Palm City, fl., James and his wife Maria of Glendale, NY., Thomas and his wife Anna of Bradenton, Fl., Peter of Bradenton, Fl.;   daughters Ann Woodfield and husband Dan of Trinity, Fl., Mary Ryan and husband Danny of Glenwood Landing, NY., Jeanne Goodenough and husband Dave of Ballston Lake, NY., Patricia Oertle andhusband Rick of St. Augustine, Fl., Ellen Gregory and husband Chris of Burnt Hills, NY.  Charles was blessed with ten grandchildren, Patrick Woodfield, Kevin Woodfield, Erin Woodfield Silva, Matthew Ryan, David Goodenough, Annie Goodenough, Brianna Lass, Kirsten Oertle Uveges, Erika Oertle, Amanda Gregory.  He was further blessed with 5 great grandchildren; Jameson Woodfield, Jackson Woodfield, Macallan Woodfield, Charlotte Woodfield, Lucy Uveges.

Calling hours for Charles will be held on Thursday January 10, 2019 from 5-7pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road Glenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on Friday January 11, 2019 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception 400 Saratoga Road Glenville, NY. Burial with military honors will follow at 1:30pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road Schuylerville, NY.

 Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital in honor of Mr.Lass.
