Obituary of Jeanne M. Radliff Smith

Jeanne M. Radliff Smith, 96, passed away suddenly on October 29, 2018 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ada Tietia LaPointe. Jeanne was a graduate of Cohoes High School. She was married to her first husband Earl “Rip” Radliff Jr. on January 25,1942 until his passing in 1981. She married her second husband Fredrick Smith on September 25, 1982.Jeanne retired after many faithful years from the Cohoes City School District as a purchasing agent. She loved bowling and golfing. Jeanne was very proud of having three hole-in-ones, all achieved after the age of 75.  She also enjoyed her time spent in New Port Richey, FL for the past several years. Jeanne was a woman of faith and was a communicant of St. Agnes Church in Cohoes until its closing and most recently the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville. Above all she loved spending time with her family.

 

In addition to her second husband Fredrick, she is survived by her sons Lawrence (Deborah) Radliff and David (Nancy) Radliff. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren with one more on the way. Many nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive.

 

In addition to her first husband Earl “Rip” Radliff Jr, she was predeceased by her son Earl Radliff III and his wife Mary Anne as well as her many brother and sisters.

 

Graveside services for Jeanne will be held on Thursday November 1, 2018 at 11am at St. Joseph’s Cemetery Waterford, NY.
