Obituary of Lillian Nebolini

Lillian Mary Nebolini (Ferri), 89, passed away August 30, 2012 with her loving family by her side. Lillian was a lifelong and recent resident of Schenectady and Ellis Residential and Rehabilitation Center. Born of September 24, 1922, daughter of the late Leon and Maria Totaro Ferri. She graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1940. Lillian was married on August 23, 1942, to Chester A. Nebolini at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, where she was a lifelong member. Lillian soon took a job with General Electric Co. to support the war effort while Chester enlisted in the Army and went overseas during WWII. After the war, she was the co-owner of Union Hardware and Electric located on upper Union Street from 1955-1967, and took over operations upon Chet's passing in 1967. Mrs. Nebolini was also the owner of Towne Liquor in Rotterdam and later worked as a private bookkeeper for Flavorland/Friendly's Corporation. She retired in 1985. Lillian enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. A favorite ws a tradition of baking her famous Easter pies and Christmas cookies. Most of all she was a people person who cherished the time spent with her family, and pickining at Sacandaga Lake, Thatcher Park, and trips to Cape Cod, MA. Her favorite passion was sending greeting cards to family and friends who often referred to her as the "Card Lady". The Nebollini family extends their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of the Edison Wing at Ellis Residential and Rehabilitation Center, and especially Dr. Gerardus S. Jameson, who cared for her throughout her entire adult life. Besides her beloved husband, she was predeceased by her sister Lucy Carhidi; brother, Ralph Ferri and many brother and sister in-laws. Survivors include her children, daughter Sandra J. (Robert) Schmidt of Clifton Park; her sons, Chester (Diane Tannatta) Nebolini of Niskayuana; and Richard (Cynthia Vincitore) Nebolini of Glenville; five grandchildren, Brian (Cathleen) Schmidt, Jeffrey (Jill) Nebolini, Amber Nebolini, Kelly (Kevin) Lanahan, and Kerry (Joseph) Kocsis-Schmidt; stepgrandchildren, Rachel Guidarelli, Jerry Guidarelli; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Sara, Emma, and Claire. She leaves behind her brother and his wife, Carmen (Carmella) Ferri of Rotterdam and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin Tuesday September 4, at 9 a.m. from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd, Glenville. Followed by a Mass at 10 a.m, Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend and may also call at the Glenville Funeral Home Monday, September 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at St. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery Rotterdam.
