Obituary of Edna Sue Fetchko

Edna Sue Fetchko, 88, of Glenville, passed on September 17, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital with her beloved family at her side.

Edna was born in Bayonne, NJ, the daughter of the late Michael and Susan (Evanek) Pidane.  She was a graduate of Bayonne High School.  Following graduation, she completed her nursing studies and became a Registered Nurse from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Hoboken, NJ.  Edna married Edward Fetchko on November 21, 1953 in Bayonne, NJ.  She later moved to Warren, NJ where she worked at Lyons V.A. Hospital and raised their three children.  She loved to dance and listen to music.  She also enjoyed her family vacations throughout the country very much.  The family eventually moved to New York, then Idaho, and then back to New York.  After her husband’s passing, Edna lived with her son Martin in Glenville, whom she considered her devoted caregiver.  Edna was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville and attended Adoration regularly, along with devotion to the Divine Mercy Novena. 

Her dearly beloved Edward predeceased Edna on September 14, 2010.  Her sons survive her: Michael (Amy), Gary (Kathie) and Martin.  Two boys and one girl grandchild also survive. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 20, 2018 at 3pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville.  Relatives and friends are invited to call on the family at the funeral home from 1pm to 3pm prior to the service.  Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Bernardsville, NJ at the family’s convenience.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Edna’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, One Penny Lane Latham, NY 12110. www.glenvillefuneralhome.com
