Obituary of Gloria C. Kritz

Gloria C. Kritz, nee: Costanzo, 93, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband (Donald J. Kritz). Born in Rochester, NY, she was the daughter of the late Carl Costanzo and Beatrice Walker. Gloria grew up in Watertown, graduating Watertown High School in 1943.  She moved to Schenectady and worked as a clerk for the Navy Dept. at the I.G.E. building, then stayed in Schenectady to attend Nursing school for one year. She moved to NYC to attend the MANDL X-Ray School and became a technician.  She worked for Dr. Ben Henry Rose in the Bronx.  She returned to Schenectady and worked for Dr. Cirincione, Dermatologist then moved on to work for Dr. Philip Parillo in nearby Scotia.  It was there she met and married Donald on July 2, 1949 raising three sons, Edward J. Kritz of Clifton Park, Mark J. (Teri) Kritz of Waterford and David (Mary Ann) Kritz of Ballston Spa, residing here the rest of their lives.  They were married almost 51 years before Donald passed on.  After raising her family, she worked as a teacher’s aide for both Lincoln Elementary School and Central Park Junior High.  Gloria was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family. Throughout her life she enjoyed swimming, dancing, fishing and traveling with her husband including spending winters in Florida and summers at the lake. 

Gloria adored her four grandchildren, Laurel (Tom), Diane (Ron), Kelley and Jason (Lauren) and her two great grandchildren: Brandon and Alexis. Gloria leaves behind her sister-in-law, Dolores Buzek, dear cousin, Penny Treggett and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (October 9) at 11 AM in the chapel at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville. Relatives and friends are invited.  A calling hour will precede the service on Tuesday. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, (Albany Street/ Kings Rd.)
