Obituary of Anthony D. Polsinelli
Anthony “Tony” D. Polsinelli, 90, of Glenville passed peacefully surrounded by family on December 11, 2018. Born in Schenectady, NY to Donato and Pasqua (Cerone) Polsinelli.
Throughout his childhood, Anthony helped with the family business Schenectady Lumber Company; formed in the early 1920s. After high school, Tony served his country in World War II, as a Tank Driver Sergeant stationed in Tacoma, WA.
In 1954, he married the love of his life, Rita C. DeFelice. Together they raised their family in Glenville, where Anthony was also raised.
Known as a master carpenter, his talent of home building was a lifelong career; developing neighborhoods in Clifton Park, Scotia and Glenville over 45 years. He also used his craftmanship to create all sorts of unique furniture pieces. Tony was a car enthusiast and enjoyed restoring cars. Anthony was a dedicated member of St. Anthony’s Church.
Predeceased by his beloved wife, Rita; brother, Vincent Polsinelli and sister, Florence Restifo.
Survivors include his children, Anthony P. (Nancy) Polsinelli of Clifton Park and Michael A. (Carol) Polsinelli of Clifton Park; grandchildren, Michael (Wendy) Polsinelli, Adam (Taylor) Polsinelli, Lisa (Timothy) Higgins, Nicholas (Irina) Polsinelli, Teresa (Dan) Griffen, Dana Polsinelli; great grandchildren: Bryce Polsinelli, Timothy, Ryan and Emilia Higgins, Gabriel, Natalie Polsinelli, Alyson and Lily Griffen; brother, Lewis A. Polsinelli and sister, Phyllis Mastroianni.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glenridge Rd Glenville, on Friday, December 14th at 10 AM with Rev. Richard A. Carlino officiating.
