Obituary of Andrew Britt

Andrew Francis Britt, Jr., 64, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Andrew was born in West Point, NY, the son of the late Andrew Francis Sr. and Katherine E. Britt. He was a graduate of Riverhead H.S. on Long Island and then State University at Albany. After high school, Andrew entered the Navy and upon honorable discharge obtained his bachelor's degree. While working on Long Island he met Barbara Joeks and they were married December 27, 1975. They lived first in North Greenbush and then to their current home in Glenville. His work experience included Blue Shield of Northeastern New York, Leonard Hospital, Moses-Luddington Hospital in Ticonderoga, and Amsterdam Memorial Hospital. His grandchildren were the love of his life. His brother, Clarence, predeceased Andrew. Survivors include his beloved wife Barbara, devoted children: daughter Rebecca Dufresne (Brian), son Justin Britt (Karen), adored grandchildren: Amora Britt, Aidan Britt, and Annabelle Dufresne; siblings: Carol Floege (Henry), Katherine Ahrens (Thomas), Kenneth Britt (Diane), April Biittig (Rick), and Kevin Britt (Columbia). Many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will begin at 1pm on Friday April 19 from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., East Glenville . Relatives and friends are invited to call on the family at the funeral home from 11 am to 1 pm prior to the service. Interment will be in Memory Gardens. The family would like to thank the East Glenville Rescue Squad for their compassionate attention and care over the last few months.
