Obituary of Charles Edward Craft Sr.

 

Charles Edward Craft Sr. Age 76 of Schenectady passed away on December 25, 2018 at his North Carolina home surrounded by his loved ones.

 

Born in Schenectady, NY on March 17th 1942; the son of John and Jeanette Craft. Charlie was the longtime owner of CHAS. G. BURCH Supply Co., a family owned business established in 1890. 

 

He served the community as a licensed Master Plumber for over 35 years and was a highly sought after craftsman of his trade. People throughout the state would seek his knowledge and expertise.

 

Charlie was a life member of Harley Owner's Group in both their New York and North Carolina chapters. He was an expert marksman, and extremely passionate about sport shooting; he was on the NY State Pistol Team. Only days before his passing, Charlie placed first in a North Carolina shooting competition. He was also a member of the Troy Pistol League and many additional clubs in North Carolina, and more recently, participated in events at the Middleburgh Rod & Gun Club.

 

Charlie is survived by the love of his life of 47 years, Patricia J. Drago, his children Charles E. (Desiree) Craft, John D. Craft, Brian (AnnMarie) Craft, his step-children Sister Deborah M. Drago, Jean E (Scott) Comley, Patricia A (Craig) Appell, Susan P. Drago, and Eugene R (Cindy) Drago, a beloved Papa to grandchildren including Charles G Craft, Valerie (Michael) Flaherty, Steven Craft, and great grandfather to Devyn Flaherty.

 

Calling hours will be held January 14th 2019 at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road from 5 to 7pm. A memorial mass will be held January 15th 2019 at St John's The Evangelist, 806 Union Street at 11am.
