Obituary of Olga Cusano Adamo

Olga Cusano Adamo, 78, of Schenectady passed away on January 22, 2019. Olga was born in Ruviano, Italy on January 28th, 1940 to the late Nicola and Maria (Ragozino) Cusano. After being educated in Italy, Olga went on to help run the family store, as a teenager, in Ruviano. In 1960, Olga and her family made the trip to the US where she eventually became a US citizen. She was a very determined woman, self educating herself and learning English in night school. On August 17th, 1963 Olga married her beloved late husband Dominic Minicuccio Adamo in her hometown of Ruviano. She worked several jobs in the US prior to starting her family and becoming a homemaker. Olga was very committed to her children and her grandchildren, making any sacrifices necessary to ensure their happiness and success. She was known for making pizza every Thursday night for her family. Olga’s hobbies included sewing, cooking, baking – especially her famous cheesecake and cream puffs and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She also found enjoyment in staying up on fashion trends and being savvy in the business world by keeping up with the stock markets. Olga was also a long time communicant of St. Anthony’s Church in Schenectady. Above all, Olga will be remembered for the unconditional love she gave her family.

In addition to her parents, Olga was predeceased by her husband Dominic Minicuccio Adamo and her brother Giovanni Cusano. She is survived by children, Joseph Adamo and Ersilia (Nick) Piccirillo and grandchildren Christina, Julianna and Annamarie Piccirillo.
