I had the privilege of meeting Henry and his bride Joyce only last May when he, Joyce and daughter Terri, and her groom David, met this branch of the Maddlone family while they made a trip to Charleston, SC. I am the grandson, of Henry's uncle Sal [Salvatore] Thomas Maddlone - he dropped the "a" in Maddalone. I will always cherish the time as Henry shared his firsthand memories of my Poppy Tom[Sal], in the 1960s. My dad (Joseph S. Maddlone), his bride Muriel, and my sisters Claire and Sandy, all moved to Miami, Florida, from Bellmore, NY, in 1957. I was born in 1958, so I grew up disconnected from the family in New York. I wish there had been more time, but I am beyond grateful for our meeting.
There comes an inevitable point in life, when the desire to keep a loved one in earthly bounds, must be reconciled with the advancing age limits of a finite physical body. There are no words to subdue a loss so deep and profound. The conspicuous absence of one who has been a solid family anchor, is a constant reminder of the loved, now departed. Time may dull the sting of loss, but it never fills the void left. I am heartbroken for your loss in this very good and well loved man. I pray that our LORD will ease the anguish of your grief, and place fond memories in your heart of all Henry did in this life. For when a memory of Henry is alive in conscious thought, he lives again in this world.
May the promise of the peace of our LORD be with you all.
