Rosemary Pitucci

Obituary of Rosemary Pitucci

Rosemary Pitucci, 87, passed away at home April 26, 2019 with her loving family and caregivers at her side. She was born in Schenectady on June 21, 1931 to the late Angelo and Lucia (Petta) Tamasi.

Rosemary graduated from Nott Terrace High School, growing up in the Northside (Goose Hill) part of her beloved Schenectady, NY. She went to Spencer Business (Institute) School and was employed as a dental hygienist in her earlier years and went on to work for G.E. until the birth of her devoted daughter, Susan, in 1962.

She married the love of her life, Gino Pitucci, at St. Anthony’s Church on April  9, 1961.  Devoted to her faith, she was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of the altar Rosary Society and the Columbiettes.

Rosemary participated in bake sales, ziti suppers at the church and annually attended the church Fiesta in the summer.

When her children were small she volunteered at Ellis Hospital as a Sunshine Lady, a pollster for her district. She was involved with the P.T.A. at her children's school and volunteered as a librarian. She was affectionate and attentive to her family and their needs.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and baking, family gatherings and always open to a game of Bingo or Pinnochle or visiting the Casino. Her sense of humor and presence around the home will be greatly missed.

ROSEMARY WAS PREDECEASED BY HER HUSAND Gino in August (2018) and also preceded in death by her brother Charles Tamasi and sister, Elsie Farone.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael G. Pitucci and her daughter, Susan Nugent (Daniel), both of Rotterdam. She leaves behind her loving sister, Louise Roselle; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The relationship with her caregivers was tremendous and greatly appreciated by her and her family. A special thanks to Kelly, Sara, Tina, Holly, Crystal, Elyza and Sheila, and to Community Hospice staff for making Rosemary comfortable and happy in her last days!
