Obituary of Donald Prioletti

Donald Prioletti, 94, passed away February 26, 2011, at Ellis Hospital. Don was a resident of the Baptist Health Center for the past 15 months. He was born in Premier, W. Virginia on September 24, 1916, the son of the late Felix and Mary Prioletti. Don entered the Civilian Conservation Corps as a teenager and served all over the country. He settled in Scotia, NY. He once owned a sweet shop on Mohawk Avenue where he met his wife, the former Rose Mongillo. They were married on May 19, 1946. Donald worked for the Maqua Company in Schenectady for several years as an offset printer. He was later a printer for Williams Press in Albany where he retired from in 1978. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Scotia and a member of the Teamsters Union. Donald was predeceased by his sisters, Angie, Mary, Rachel, Philomena and Margaret as well as a brother, Arthur Prioletti. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Rose M. Prioletti; his son, Brian A. Prioletti (wife Mary K.) of Fairfax. VA; three grandchildren, Anthony J., Thomas B. and Kathryn R. Prioletti; his last remaining sister, Virginia Paolelli of Schenectady; and several nieces and nephews, including one special niece, "Mistaschelle." The Prioletti family wishes to thank the entire staff of the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center for their loving and compassionate care. Relatives and friends will be received at the Holy Family Hall at St. Joseph's Church, 236 First St., Scotia on Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 9 to 10 a.m. Immediately following, a Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. followed by a procession to St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenridge Rd. (Mother Seton Patio) where Don will be entombed. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center, 297 N. Ballston Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302.
