Obituary of Elizabeth N. Norton

Elizabeth N. Norton, 91, of Schenectady, NY, died on July 22, 2019 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home, Schenectady, NY. She was wife to Linwood O. Norton (deceased 2/2014) for 56 years. Born in Augusta, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Ermelene (Arata) Nickerson. Bettie resided in Seabrook, NH for most of her life and loved going to Seabrook Beach. Prior to marriage, she worked for AT&T for several years. Once her children were grown, she worked part-time at Demoulas Supermarket in Seabrook for several years.

Bettie enjoyed knitting, reading, crossword puzzles, and golfing with her husband.

She is survived by her son, Thomas L. and wife, Donna Marie of Glenville, NY and daughter, Jane N. Jung and husband, Gerhard of Greer, SC and four grandsons, Christopher and fiancé, Meagan McCowan, and Zachary Norton, and Matthew Jung and wife, Chelsea Vecellio, and Michael Jung. She was predeceased by her brother Almo Nickerson.

Funeral services will be held privately for family. Bettie will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta, Maine.
