I was so sad to hear of Paul's passing. My Dad was Frank Tremblay ( his Moms brother) I have very fond memories of him when I was young and loved visiting Schenectady and our visits with him and Michael.. My prayers and love to his wife and family. I always knew he would grow up to be a wonderful man, father and friend.

Sending sincere condolences to the entire Swere family upon the passing of Paul Swere. I, like many other Scotia-Glenville alumni soccer girls cherish the fond memories having been coached and mentored by Paul Swere. He truly cared about us on and off the field and I am glad to have known him over the years. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies on the loss of your loved one.

Dear Pat and Family,
Please accept our deepest condolences in the loss of your husband and father, Paul. Paul and I became friends while playing little league baseball on Michigan Avenue in Schenectady. Although we attended different high schools, we managed to remain friends for a long time. It was always a pleasure running into Paul. We would always have much to say about each other and our fellow athlete friends. Our friendship was truly extended when our daughter, Michele Scirocco (Moynihan) started playing soccer under his leadership. They had an amazing team and won many games. Michele spoke very highly of Paul as a coach and as a person. I always knew he was a great coach and had the qualities of being a very kind and compassionate person. After our daughter graduated from high school, her soccer career ended., Anytime Paul and I resumed our friendship, it would be at local places, such as the Charlton Tavern or St. John's during or after mass. We always had the chance to catch up on what was going on around town, and how our families were doing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as well. Paul will always remain in our hearts and memory. Jack and Carol Scirocco

I’m very saddened to hear of Mr. Swere’s passing. Though it’s been many years, I’ve always held very fond memories of our families’s time together. Paul was always a good friend to my dad. It was always clear to see the fun and joy that Mr. Swere brought with him. There was always a good story of the shenanigans at NiMo. I can’t help but smile when looking at that picture.
My condolences,
Jeff Harbison

Paul - Mr Swere as i called him was my little league baseball coach. I played baseball with son Scott and also since i was very involved with soccer, i interacted with Shannon. He was a dedicated father, coach and mentor. He was full of energy and loved his kids and treated each one of his players as a kid of his own, trying to not only teach the sport, but right from wrong. I haven't seen him for years but that picture of him brought back many good memories. My condolences to the family.

I was so saddened to hear that Coach Swere had died. What a man. He was my soccer coach for many years at Scotia. In addition to teaching us a ton about soccer, he instilled many life lessons that I use to this day. One of my favorites was, "Don't say 'I can't.' Say, 'Help me, teach me, show me how!" But that is just one of many. He helped me through a very tough time in my life (the passing of my mother) by knowing just what to say, when to push me and when to let me work through on my own. He even looked in on me during my college years. I will forever be grateful to him for this. I feel so fortunate that we reconnected years later too. But I am just one of many...
