Here are some photos of Bob Ringlee's early climbing days in the North Cascades on Mt Rainier, an early pic of Bob & Helen, smitten, and some of family camping trips with the Ringlee/ Pollock clan.
Bob was a man of his word, who showed compassion, was ever fair, gentle & humble while being highly competent at most everything he undertook- (with the exception of paddling upstream on the east branch of the Penobscot River in Maine)
We are all better people for having known and been cherished by Bob Ringlee.
With a deep bow, we accept the passing of his bright light

Dear Jane and family -
We’re sorry to learn of your Dad’s passing - I can clearly see your family home, having walked to your 315 mailbox tons of times to drop of mail that came to our 315. Your Dad’s life is a lovely story - such a nice obituary- and the picture of your Dad is stunning. What an interesting guy.
Thinking of you -

We Pollocks have been so appreciated of being in touch with Jane and Sarah, our dear childhood vacation buddies, through this time of Bob’s passing. Our family begin our Thanksgiving gathering on Wednesday night this year, with soup and bread, and a conversation about Bob. Bob was such a special soul, a calm presence for us Pollock girls during times when it really felt like the um, “canoes” needed righting; stabilizing, metaphorically speaking. Bob and Helen provided that for us. I sure hope Bob -and Helen- came to feel my gratitude for their being in our lives, even tho we teens went our own ways by college and beyond, as teens tend to need to do.
And dispite the complications in our family, we all sure had a lotta laughs out there in the wilds, didn’t we?! And Janie, I’ve always thought for SURE it was pissgetti that your ma was cooking that day, But GOSH DARN IT if I haven’t finally come to see the error of my thinking; that it WAS macnamoni and cheese after all! Our love to you all and I hope we all can stay in touch, ok? No canoe rides, I promise! Jean, and my Bob.
