Obituary of Ivy Payton Semeraro
Ivy Payton Semeraro, 90, of 912 Bentbrook Lane, Sherman TX, went home to be with Jesus on December 11, 2019.
Ivy was born in Auburn, NY, the daughter of Harold and Esther Payton and graduated from Fulton High School’s Class of 1948.
She was married for 52 years to Donald Semeraro. After high school, Ivy worked as a secretary and receptionist until the birth of her first child. For the remainder of her life she assumed the role of a caring mother and homemaker.
Throughout her life, Ivy was very active in her local church. She enjoyed teaching and serving in any capacity to further the Kingdom of God. Ivy will be remembered as a woman who lived her life to the fullest, always exuding kindness and compassion to every person she met. To those who loved her, she will always be remembered as “Grandma Ivy”.
Ivy leaves her son, Marty Semeraro of Sherman TX, and her daughter, Ivy P. Graves and son-in-law Christopher Graves of Sherman, Texas; granddaughters, Jennifer Ivy, Sarah Patricia, Lauren Christine, and Rachel Michelle of Sherman, Texas.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation and funeral service that will be officiated by Pastor Paul Tebbano on Saturday, December 28 from 4-6p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. A graveside committal service will be held later in the spring at South Hill Cemetery in Ithaca, NY, under the direction of Glenville Funeral Home.
