He was the kindest man and i have always loved him because he loved my sons, Joseph & Andrew. He taught them the “Buckle-up” song he made up to teach them to put their seat belts on.
George was smart but never made you feel dumb, he was the best cook and i remember many times he made wonderful dinners for our family because Joan asked him to.
He was always kind to me and i am forever sorry i wasn’t able to convey how much i appreciate all he & my sister ever did for my sons growing up. He will be missed so much.

I’m so saddened to hear of George’s passing. What a great role model and friend to so many people, including me. I’ve treasured our talks over the years and Saturday mornings will not be the same without him.

Dear Joan:
I went to high school with George and I truly enjoyed his company when with him. He came to us later in life at Draper High (I can't remember what grade.) And I remember him from a Reunion or two. He always brought a smile to my face and got a laugh out of me at them . His Dad, as i recall had a used car lot (on the corner of Guilderland Ave & Curry Road) one block over from where I grew up. And sometimes George & I would walk to school together & chat. He brings back happy memories to me. May the Lord be with you and bless you both. Eugene (Gene) T. Reohr. .

My condolences to George’s family at this sad time. I met him a long time ago when we both worked at the pancake house on State Street in Schenectady. Our paths crossed again in the rooms of AA and we discovered we had the same date when we began our sobriety. George was a great role model and loved by many. May he rest in peace.
