Obituary of Heleene Fundis

Fundis, Heleene L., 91, a Scotia resident, died peacefully, June 18, 2013, at the Glendale Nursing Home after a brief illness. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 18, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Clifford J. and Adelaide Cochrane Waters. The family moved to Scotia when Heleene was at a young age. She married William F. Geiger in 1942. Heleene worked as a buyer for the Wallace Company, Schenectady, New York from 1947-1964. Following the death of her husband Bill in 1963, she later married William G. Fundis who passed away in 1975. Heleene always had a passion for gardening. She was a member of the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was predeceased by her sisters Mildred B. Waters, Margarette L. VanValkinburgh and twin Norma L. Waters, Amarylla V. Waters, and Adelaide M. Reilly. Survivors include her sisters Kathleen W. Truelove, of Scotia, Sheila R. Bilka, of Glenville, brothers Clifford (Jan) Waters of Rexford, David E. (Maureen) Waters of Saratoga Springs, as well as several nieces and nephews. Memorial service to be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at 3:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 1720 Albany Street, Schenectady, New York 12304.
