Obituary of Anna C. Malizia

Our beautiful mother and grandmother Anna C. Malizia passed away suddenly on February 19, 2020 at her home. Her long and important life began on October 17, 1931. Anna was born in Schenectady, New York to the late Michael and Mary Colamarino. She graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and worked at the law offices of Higgins, Roberts, Beyerl and Coan prior to starting a family. Anna’s biggest joys in life were her grandchildren. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother. Anna was an honest and caring person who made you feel fortunate to know her. She was an avid reader and amazing cook. She enjoyed cooking for and sharing meals with her family, especially bread. She was predeceased by her brother Nicholas Colamarino. Anna is survived by her daughters Betty (Ken) Ille of Rotterdam, Teresa Malizia of Niskayuna, Lucy (Phil) Lamovec of Bonita Springs, Florida and Anna (Bill) Malizia – Hoyt of Houston, Texas. Anna is also survived by her grandsons Ken Ille of Rotterdam, Michael (Lindsey) Ille of East Greenbush, Garrison and Braeden Hoyt of Houston, Texas, her sister-in-law Gerri Colamarino and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Anna’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Mark Jordan, Paula Opel, and Christa Nicol for their compassionate care. Anna was a woman of great faith and lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Schenectady. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday February 25, 2020 at 11am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant St., Schenectady. In according with Anna’s wishes calling hours and burial at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery will be held privately for family. In lieu of flowers as per Anna’s request, donations may be made in her memory to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant St., Schenectady, NY 12303, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or to Shenendehowa High School West Library 970 NY-146, Clifton Park, NY 12065
