Obituary of Glenn J. Broadbent Jr.

Glenn J. Broadbent Jr., 62, passed away suddenly in the comfort of his home on March 3, 2020. Born in Herkimer, NY, he was the son of the late Glenn and BettyJane Broadbent. He attended West Canada Valley CSD in Newport, NY. Glenn married his beloved wife Janet E. Broadbent on September 25, 1999. He worked for many years as a Sports Clerk at Sports Plus in Clifton Park, retiring in 2018 due to a tragic house fire. Glenn could often be found watching sports, especially rooting for Michael Jordan and listening to KISS music. Above all he loved his large family dearly. In addition to his parents Glenn was predeceased by his son Eric Edwards, who passed away tragically in a house fire. Survivors include his wife Janet Broadbent, children Trisha Warney (Rob), Amy Broadbent (Josh), Alexis Broadbent, Emily Broadbent, Glenn Broadbent, Jordan Broadbent, Dillon Broadbent, Marcus Broadbent, Halle Broadbent, Lucas Broadbent, Charlie Edwards (Roxanne), Amy Edwards (Alan), April Wickham (Doug) and Christopher Edwards. Glenn is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and was one of 11 brothers and sisters. A large extended family also survives. Calling hours will be held on Friday March 6, 2020 from 4-6pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Glenn’s name to the Westchester Medical Center, Burn Unit for the care and compassion Glenn received during his time there.
