Obituary of Elizabeth C, Gable

Elizabeth C. Gable, 77, of Scotia-Glenville passed peacefully on June 26, 2020 with the love of her family with her. Born in Pittsfield, MA on December 21, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Reeves) Larkin. She attended Pittsfield High school.

After high school, she met the love of her life, Herbert Gable. They were married on February 19, 1964. They began their family in Pittsfield, MA and traveled as a family with G.E. before settling in the Scotia-Glenville area, where they raised their children. Elizabeth worked as a hair stylist before coming a full time mother. Her family was always the most important element of her life. In 2018, her beloved husband, Herbert, passed away.

To continue Elizabeth and Herbert’s memory are their children, Carleen Matheson and Michelle Guerra; grandchildren, Kirstie Matheson, Michael, Alexis and Neiko Guerra; siblings, Roberta Massary, Joseph Larkin and Nicholas Larkin as well as many nieces and nephews. 

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Herbert, and her siblings,  Letiita Hespeline, Ann Weckman and Francis Larkin. 

Elizabeth had a vibrant personality. All who knew her will remember the spit-fire she was! Her family reflects on how she could brighten up any room with her laughter.

She was also a talented photographer and received numerous rewards in photography. Her creative passion took her and her camera to beautiful backdrops and landscapes, but her favorite image to capture was of her newborn grandchildren, whom she loved so much. 

When you think of Elizabeth and Herbert Gable, imagine them riding into the sunset on a motorcycle, because that is where their heaven is, together forever.
