YOUR SILENT SELF

The house has changed since you have gone;

All work is dulled, the days drone on;

Such loneliness comes next to fear

Where it not for your presence near;

The books you left upon the shelf,

Your music, too-your silent self

Pervades. At dusk I hear you play

Time is sieve, years sift away

Nothing that offsets love can last,

Love, like a homing bird, flies fast

So the long night that I endure

Shall quickly fade. You are secure

TOMORROW

I had to be an idiot like you

To be amazed to listen to you

Speak all day about you

(And at night) go outside to look for you

I know because you are inside me

And I know you are stronger than me

Because it only takes an idiot like me

To still be here calling you

And to get all the harm you do to me

Just because I like to forgive you

Because you are, you are inside me

And then you are much stronger than me

It is the truth

But how it is done

Where will you and I be

Tomorrow tomorrow

We will still be so far away

We will sniff each other like dogs, dogs

Just like two children you and me

Oh oh you and me

Oh oh you and me

Okay so now tell me what you do

We could arrange to meet

Just tell me where you're going tonight

See you, who knows if you have the courage to look at me

Because, I know you know

That I am inside you, and oh

You will see, I am stronger than you

It is the truth

And here's how it's done

Here is what you and I will be

Tomorrow tomorrow

We will be clouds in the sky

So at least we will not be further, far away

And when the wind wants it we will meet

We will meet

You and me tomorrow

You and me tomorrow
