My deepest condolences to the family. I grew up with The Sutherland family. Our parents were dear friends and we spent most of the holidays and special family events together. I remember catching lightning bugs with Marily and sitting on the back porch watching the lightning and thunder. We were scared, but were also thrilled by it all. I was Mary's dentist for decades until I retired and I always appreciated her kind and gentle manner. We had numerous discussions about her family and her deep faith. She always expressed her devotion to Lori and Eric and was ever concerned about their well being and happiness. (as parents, we never stop worrying about our kids whether they need it or not!). I remember her fondly and I hope that, in time, your memories of her bring smiles rather than tears. May she rest in peace and may God bless your family. John Schummer DDS

Mary was a dear, loving person. The Fo'Castle group of high school gals will miss her so much. I am so glad we came together a few years ago after being apart from each other for too many years. Mary was a sweet and kind lady. She would come into Christopher and Banks with her friend Sharon frequently and always have a pleasant word to share with me. One day, I was eating my lunch in the food court and she and Sharon were there. Mary came over to the table after she and Sharon were eating and told me that I should always come eat with them so I didn’t have to eat alone. That’s the type of person that Mary was and I will miss seeing her. I’m so sorry for your loss! My prayers are with you and your family.
