Marie Pelletier

Obituary of Marie A. Pelletier

Marie A. Pelletier, 92, of Glenville passed peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on August 17, 2020. Born on December 8, 1927 in Hudson Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Claude G. and Sadie (Danforth) Purdy. Raised in Schenectady, she graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1946.  She went on to work at General Electric where she met her first husband, Benjamin Bartolotto, together they raised two children.

For over 30 years she worked in banking. Beginning as a bank teller at National Commercial Bank & Trust, she worked her way up to supervisor of bookkeeping with Citizens Bank and Keybank. Marie was a dedicated worker, but the most important thing in her life was her family. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Lawrence A. Pelletier. The couple shared a beautiful life filled with experiences and memories. They particularly enjoyed their Saturday tradition of going to the Saratoga Race Course. Her family will always remember how special she made Christmas feel, Marie loved gathering her loved ones together.

In her spare time, you would find Marie crafting. She found happiness in being creative, as well as enjoyed shopping. Marie had a huge heart, and inside that big heart she had a special place for animals.

To continue her memory are her children, Bruce B. (Rita) Bartolotto and Lynn (Milton) Hinkle; sister, Claudia LaPlant; cherished grandchildren, Bruce Jr. Bartolotto, Brian B. (Amy) Bartolotto, Kimberly (Mark) Hinds, Michelle Teerlinck, Tammy Hinkle, Christine Pedrick and Gordon Hinkle; beloved great-granchildren, Ashley, Gianni and Sydney Plemenick, Rochelle Teerlinck, Nicholle Garricks, Alex Pedrick, Russel Pedrick, Benjamin Bartolotto and Aiden Bartolotto; as well as 3 great-great grandchildren; and loving cousins, Lois Bombard and Bill Danforth.

She was predeceased by Benjamin Bartolotto; husband, Lawrence A. Pelletier; brothers, Gilbert, Flyod and Ralph Purdy.
