Obituary of Marilyn Giaquinto

Marilyn O. Giaquinto (Ostergren), 76, of Roslyn Drive, passed away July 1, 2013 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Paul Ostergren Sr. and Lena DeLuca Ostergren. Marilyn grew up in Scotia-Glenville attending Scotia-Glenville H.S. and graduated in 1954. She married Edward Giaquinto on June 30, 1956. The Giaquintos lived in Mesa, AZ for four years (1956-61) where Marilyn was secretary to the manager at the Arizona State Employment Office. They moved back to the area and built their home in Glenville where they have lived ever since. They had no children themselves but she was very close to her nephews and nieces. Family was an important part of Marilyn's life. She enjoyed helping others. Hobbies included sewing and going to the gym at Sunnyview Hospital. Marilyn was a longtime communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville. She was predeceased by her sister Joyce A. Carder (Charles) of Glen Lake, NY, her niece, Lori Scarbroug, and her nephew, Chuckie Carder. Survivors include her beloved husband Edward Giaquinto, two brothers, Paul Ostergren Jr. and his wife Rose of Orlando, FL and Warren Ostergren and his wife Veronika of Socorro, NM and her devoted sister, Cindy A. Johnson and her husband Michael of Glenville. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday July 6, 2013 at 9:00 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. with Rev. Jerome Gingras officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend and may also call at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Friday from 4 PM to 7 PM. Interment will be at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church, 400 Saratoga Rd. (Rte 50) Glenville, NY 12302.
