Dear Joe, children and grandchildren,
Our condolences at Nancy's passing. We are so grateful to have gotten to know her after meeting at St. Edwards. She was so welcoming and a joy to spend time with. We especially remember her smile of pride when we were all together for the Knights 4th degree. May your precious memories give you comfort as you mourn Nancy's passing.
Hugs, Dave and Lauri Dittmer

I have always been very grateful for Mrs Walko's ability as a nurse. Many years ago back in Charlton Heights, she was conducting vision tests on the children in Kindergarten. I receive a phone call at work from Mrs. Walko who says " Mrs Rogers I just did an eye exam on your daughter and she has no vision in her left eye" I am on the other end of the phone in complete shock. As it turns out the district school nurses had just went to a seminar given by a local eye doctor. They had been taught to perform this certain test. Turns out my daughter could not count 3 fingers in front of her left eye and spent the next couple of years wearing a eye patch and coke bottle thick lenses in her glasses.
If Mrs. Walko had not performed this test on her, god only know how many difficulties she would have had. Because of Mrs Walko the condition was corrected (which has a very short time in which you can correct the vision) and she is now 32 years old and has very good vision. My next phone call from Mrs walko was to thank me for the flowers that I had sent her. I will forever eternally grateful to her.
My you be at peace.
Melissa Rogers

Dear Joe and Family,
I'm so sorry to hear about your tremendous loss. My memories of Nancy mostly go back to the times our family spent in DuBois when I was young, And although we didn't see much of each other over the years, I will remember her as the kind and gentle person I knew back then. God help you and your family in the coming months. Cousin, Pat Andrews

As I heard of Nancy's passing this weekend, my mind thought of my interactions with her over the past years. While we didn't know each other for many years or too much beyond the St Edward's Parish Nurse program and other church activities, we had that common nursing bond, which for nurses runs deep. I will remember Nancy for her kindness and genuine interest & dedication to the parish nurse program, always willing to lend a hand and advice from years of knowledge & experience. She was very easy and enjoyable to talk with and had a fun wit that made you happy to be around her. I will miss my nurse friend and I pray that she finds easy rest & peace with our Lord. God bless you Nancy, and may your family find peace and comfort from the years of love that you all have shared.
