Obituary of Angelina Ferraro

Angelina M. Ferraro, 93, of Darrow Rd., passed away unexpectedly July 10, 2013 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady with her loving family at her side. Born in Utica, NY on February 28, 1920, a daughter of the late Carmello and Josephine Angelo, she met her future husband Elio Ferraro and married in Schenectady in 1951. Before that time Angie worked in the lab at General Electric Company. Angie was later employed by both Casa Visco Importing Company in Rotterdam and Campbell Plastics. For over 65 years she was a Sales Representative for Avon. Angie loved sharing stories with family and friends and communicating regulary by telephone. In 1977 she moved in permanently with her daughter and son-in-law to help raise her grandchildren. Her love and devotion showed through her cooking fabulous Italian style meals and incredible chicken soup! Angie was fond of her Bingo scratch off tickets she both purchased for and received from her family. She loved watching classic movies, card games and being a constant support to her grandchildren's formative years. Angie enjoyed dancing while attending functions with her family. She was predeceased by her brother Fred F. Angelo and her grandson David Longo. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Lucarelli (Donald), of Duanesburg, Deborah Blacklock (Charles J. Eglin) of Rotterdam, Deborah McKinney (Kelly) of Florida and her son, Anthony E. Ferraro (Michelle Smith) of Greenville. Angie is survived also by her former husband, Elio Ferraro (Vivian) of Mariaville; her loving sister Josephine D. Palazini of Saratoga Springs, NY five cherished grandchildren: Josepha Longo (Craig Macherone), Joseph Lucarelli(Renee Wolfert), Donelle Lucarelli, Luke A. Ferraro and Douglas Blacklock; and adoring great grandson, Andrew Longo. She is survived also by several nieces and nephews and her feline friends Remy and Malokai. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 15 at 11:30 AM at St. Madeleine-Sophie Roman Catholic Church. Carmen Rd. Guilderland. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend and may also call Sunday from 3 PM to 6 PM at the GLENVILLE FUNERAL HOME 9 Glenridge Rd. (East Glenville), off Route 50. Entombment will be at Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum, Niskayuna. Memorials may be made in Angelina Ferraro's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 N.
