Dear Lydia and family,
I am writing this Sunday afternoon, at a time when we, Steve’s Canadian cousins, should be with you; but, the border remains closed and so we stay at home. Now, when you think of us, I hope It is with fond memories of your last visit to Montreal in the summer of 2017.
Yes, at that time, while ALS was present in two family members, Steve and my Mom Helena, what I remember most vividly was their unfailing determination and spirit. My mother had lost her voice by then, and yet she still had us all laughing as she described childhood memories shared with her cousin Amelia, Steve’s mother.
I also recall that Steve’s appetite had made a miraculous recovery while at our place; you were amazed! And how happy we were when Steve came out for a dip in our hot tub.
Wonderful memories of a wonderful cousin.
Love from Montreal,
Fran and Paul (Chelsea too, woof)
& my Dad, Maurice

Dear Lydia and family, our deepest condolences. So sorry to hear that Steve has been taken from us way to early. Porsche club meetings haven't been the same since Steve got sick. At the start of each fall getaway Barbara and I always talk about the start of the Watkins Glen trip , when Steve broke from the pack and headed west. In hindsight, we should have followed Steve and Lydia.....

Steve, never forget all the talks and the good times at the USAFA conferences-the No PME group and at the old house with your lovely wife, Lydia always making sure there was enough food. I got upset when Lydia left the message but know you no longer suffer. I put my G-Man hat on to make sure the family receives all the entitled military benefits. We will see you off on your last flight upward and away to meet the Air Force Heroes in the great beyond. May God Bless You on the Flight to Heaven.

Dear Lydia, thank you for both yours and Steve’s friendship. Our hearts go out to you and your family. In this very difficult time it’s with great fondness that I recall meeting Steve. He was one of the first club members to welcome Heather and I into a great circle of new friends. We always enjoyed our conversations with him. He was a good man and a Patriot. It was an honor to meet him and get to know him. All of you are in our prayers. Brian McGowan and Heather Brady.

Steve was a true friend. From drives and get-a-ways with HCP/PCA where we met many years ago, to vacationing together at your condo in Myrtle Beach, to hanging out on our boat sharing laughs, interesting stories, and just fun times enjoying each others company. Most recently celebrating your 71st birthday together over pizza. You fought the good fight. I miss you and always will. God Speed Steve.

I just sat down at my computer to find the message from the Porsche Club.... I have no idea where to start.. Steve & I became friends back in 2009 thru the HCP.. He went out of his way to be there for me after my car accident in March 2013 which took the life of my wife (of 35 years) Barbara..I'm now in Florida.. I was up in NY in August and got to see Steve & Lydia as well as a few other Porsche Club friends.. I'm so glad I did.. I have such fond memories of Steve & Lydia at various club functions.. I want so badly to come up for the service but there is just no way at this time..Lydia and the boys.... I'm thinking of you.... Just let me know if there is anything I can do... Stay strong.. With all my love.. Steve..
