Obituary of Julia Scott

Julia H. Scott, 90, of Glen Avenue, passed away unexpectedly July 13, 2013 at Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Whitehall, NY on June 28, 1923, she was one of nine children of the late Anthony and Catherine Tasciotti Scott. Julia was a member of the graduating class of 1941 at Whitehall High where she was Valedictorian. She went on to receive her bachelors in accounting from Bryant College. Julia was employed for twenty years as an accountant for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady and later in the same capacity for M.T.I. in Latham. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Scotia. Julia remained single her entire life. She was passionate about the Arts being an avid orchestra and ballet patron at Saratoga Performing Arts. Julia would watch the performances regularly. She would buy tickets for family and friends to share her enjoyment of the fine arts. A refined and polished woman, Julia was a connoisseur of blends of fine wines. She resided in Albany for a short while. Julia was a Scotia resident for most her adult life. She was predeceased by seven of her siblings. Survivors include her sister, Elvira Neumann of Glenville and numerous nieces and nephews. Julia will be laid to rest at the family plot in Whitehall, New York.
