Obituary of Dorothy B. Schirnhofer

Dorothy Schirnhofer, 91, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2021.

Dorothy was born in New Britain, CT, to the late Patrick and Betty Barry. She was married to the late Frank Schirnhofer until his passing in 1996.

Dorothy was a sweet, gentle, fun loving soul, and was known for her contagious smile. She enjoyed nature, fashion, her time at Sacandaga Lake and Strawberry Hill Camp, playing cards and “Upwards”, watching Jeopordy and Property Brothers, and shared a love for music, especially Neil Diamond. Above all, Dorothy loved her family and grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Frank.

Dorothy is survived by her children; Sandra (Paul) McCullough, Debra (Stephen) Papageorge, Bonnie Coulter (Roger Clearwater), Patricia Rakvica (Warren Bessler) and Gary (Dawn) Schirnhofer; 10 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild (soon to be 2.)

The family is especially grateful for the compassionate support of Glendale Nursing Home.

Services will be held privately for immediate family members. Dorothy will be laid to rest alongside her husband at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Glenville.
