Obituary of John D. Christiana

Mr. John David Christiana, 66, of Scotia, NY, passed away at home on March 6th, 2021.

John was born in Kingston, NY to William and Janet Christiana on January 9th, 1955. He went to Saugerties High School and graduated in 1973. He worked as a Technician for Evonik Corp. for 26 years (retired 2017).  He enjoyed traveling, home improvement projects, and helping his friends and family with anything he could.

John is survived by his significant other, Maria Holland of Scotia, Carol Christiana of Glenville, sons Jon of Grafton, Paul (Kimberley) of Clifton Park, and Nat Christiana of Clifton Park, Mother Janet Christiana of Mt. Marion, siblings Paul, Jim, Joe, and Pam Christiana, grandchildren Brianna, Jenna, and Mason Christiana. He is preceded in death by his father William and brother Tom Christiana.

A celebration of John’s life will be scheduled for summer of ’21.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, cancer.org.  The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nursing staff at Ellis Hospital and his home care aides.
