George Kehn III

Obituary of George E. Kehn III

Glenville-

George E. Kehn III, 72, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2021 at Saratoga Hospital.

George was born on July 6, 1948 in Troy, NY, the son of George E., Jr. and Rita M. (Gregg) Kehn. He was a graduate of Troy High School in 1966 and was a resident of Glenville since 1972, where he would raise two of his three daughters with his beloved wife, the late Diane M. Kehn.

George was employed with the Daily Gazette for 20 years, leaving in 1995. He would later work as a sales representative with S.V. Moffett in Cohoes, where he would eventually retire. In his prime, he was a proud volunteer member of the Glenville Fire Dept. and EMT.

George always had a story to tell, and he was very well known around Glenville. He once gave CPR to a parrot and brought it back to life during a house fire during his time as a volunteer firefighter.  He enjoyed playing golf, camping at Birch Haven on Sacandaga Lake, and spending time with his family- especially his three daughters, who were his entire world.  He was respected by many and was known by many as their 2nd father.

George was predeceased by his beloved wife, Diane M. Kehn in 1992.

George is survived by his three daughters, Tracy Wright, Nicole Brown (Todd) and Carrie Kehn (George Lyons); five grandchildren, Victoria Wright, Abigail Wright, Justin Sisler, Ethan Wright and Lily Sisler; and one great-grandbaby on the way.
