Obituary of Paul S. Aragosa

Paul S. Aragosa, 64, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of his family on May 9, 2021.

Paul was born in Schenectady on April 8, 1957 to the late Americo “Merf” and Jean Longo Aragosa. He attended Schalmont High School, graduating in 1975.  Later he received his Associates in Applied Science in Construction Technology from H.V.C.C. Paul married the former Zenaida Garza Ibarra on February 15, 1987. A man of many projects, Paul was the Senior Superintendent of Construction for NYS O.G.S. before he retired in 2009.

Paul enjoyed all gifts nature had to offer. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watersports, roller coasters, frisbee, and foosball. Paul was a very generous soul and would always extend a helping hand to others. Paul loved all animals and had many pets throughout his life. He was a member of Guan Ho Ha Fish and Game Club and parishioner at Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Community Hospice, especially to Laura, Michelle and Cylon.

Survivors include his beloved wife Zenaida and daughters, Tania, Vanesa and Ana Aragosa;  His sister, Maria Aragosa (husband John Chakmakas) and brothers, Patrick (Susan) and Peter (Laurie Vane) Aragosa.

Paul leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.

Calling hours, Thursday, May 13, 4 PM-8 PM at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Scotia-Glenville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 14, at 10 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Rd.Rotterdam with Fr. Kenneth Paulli, O.F.M. officiating. A procession to Sts. Cyril-Methodius Cemetery will follow.
