Obituary of Victoria Ann McCardle

Victoria Ann McCardle, 60, of Scotia passed away unexpectedly on June 1st, 2021. A 1978 Scotia-Glenville graduate, she was the daughter of Robert F. Galante and Carmela Struffolino.

For many years, Victoria worked at Computer Science Corporation in Menands. Victoria’s life was not about work. It was about living.

Vicki was always the “life of the party”, whether you knew her personally or you just met her, you would have front row seats to her fun, full of life personality. She was kind, funny, and beyond entertaining. Vicki could make any dull room light up!

Her children by Joseph Provenzano were her pride and joy. Since they were born, Kyle and Gabrielle changed her life. Every moment she got to spend with them she never wanted to end…no matter if it was a routine family dinner at her house or pleading for them to stay up to sit by the fire at camp, because we all know Michael was already in bed. They may have changed her life, but she didn’t change for them or anyone else. Her incredible heart and soul poured over her family and everyone else she knew. Anyone who was lucky enough to know her knows how blessed they were and how treasured those memories will now be.

9 years ago, Victoria “Vicki” reconnected with a friend from high school. The two shared a love of life and family which began a beautiful relationship. In 2015, Victoria married this friend who will forever be the love of her life, Michael McCardle. Mike will always remember Vicki’s spirit and energy and how you couldn’t keep up with her.

Being a seeker of fun and adventure, Vicki loved riding motorcycles and boating on Sacandaga Lake. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the country with “Alice” in tow, so she could experience all that life had to offer. Her happy place was on Sand Island where “Life at the Lake was Better’. She created lifelong friends everywhere she went, Vicki always came back with a new friend wherever she went.  Vicki had the kind of personality you wanted to be friends with.

Beyond anything else, her family was the most important thing in her life. Memories created with her large Italian family are filled with laughter and love. There will be a void in each of their hearts because the leader of their pack was Victoria. She was a nurturing mother, but also the friend you needed to put a smile on your face.

Even though she is not with us anymore, her love and stories live on. And when you see a bird dancing on a branch, it is more likely Victoria being her unapologetic, amazing self.

To continue Victoria’s memory is her beloved husband, Michael McCardle, children, Kyle Provenzano (Alexa Putnam), Gabrielle (Justin) Beyer, nieces and nephews: Ashley Livingston, Bobbi-Jo Wier, Joseph Wier IV, Hope Galante, Tara and Tiffany Provenzano, as well as many other cherished nieces, nephews and cousins. She also survived by her best friend and sister, Wendy Wier (Robert Angelo), mother, Carmella and step-father, John Rinehart; and brother, Robert Galante.
