Obituary of Burton H. Weise

Burton H. Weise, 96, of Weise Road Glenville, passed away on June 16,2021. Born in Schenectady, NY and raised in Scotia, Mr. Weise was a 1942 graduate of Scotia High School. He served in the Navy from 1943-1946 in the European-Pacific Theatre of Operation.

Mr. Weise had been an Ironworker out of Albany’s Local 12 for 40 years; he was a foreman and superintendent while with the Union. He later owned B & D Erectors in Schenectady during the 1970’s. Among his work was the Salisbury Chevrolet Building in Scotia.

Mr. Weise was of the protestant faith.

Burton was a member of the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association and a member of the D.A.V. Chapter 71. He also was a member of the U.S.S. NAIFEH Association.

His wife of 54 years, the former Doris Lindsay Weise and son Burt Weise predeceased him.

Survivors include his son Peter Weise of Ballston Spa and two granddaughters April Nottingham (Louis) and Samantha Weise. Also surviving are two great granddaughters Cora Nottingham and Sadie Durnburg.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours by request. Burial will be in Memory’s Garden, Colonie.
