Obituary of James E. Hunter

 

James Hunter went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2021 at 93 years old in his home. Born in Amsterdam, NY on March 13th, 1928.  He was a graduate of Schoharie High School. Jim married Olga Lovestrand (better known to all her family and friends as Dolly) on August 19, 1950 and moved to Glenville in 1954.  He was a veteran, serving with the US Marines during the Korean War. Jim worked for the Roland J. Down Company for 42 years, being the first employee ever hired by Roland J. Down, where he continued to work as a sales engineer until the company was sold.  Jim was enthusiastic about motor homing. He was a life-time member (L 7790) of the Family Motor Coach Association. Jim was a past President of the Empire State Chapter of FMCA and he was very active in the local chapter. 

Jim was a Charter Member of Faith Baptist Church where he served faithfully.

 

Survivors include his children Cheryl Burns and her husband Robert of Bethlehem, NH, Linda Fedele and her husband Ronald of Bethlehem, NH and Walter Hunter and his wife Kristin of Ballston Spa. Additional survivors include nine grandchildren, David Burns and his wife Ashley, Ryan Burns and his wife Ashley, Nathan Burns and his wife Ashley, Zachary Burns and his wife Kaytlyn, Lauren Mulkigian, Kate Mulkigian, Benjamin Mulkigian, Samantha Hunter and Kellie Hunter and two step-grandchildren, Andrea Kegelman and her husband Mike, Allison Fulford and her husband Nick; and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a step-brother Warren Tillapaugh and his wife Rochelle of Fairfax, VA along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be greatly missed by his children, relatives and many friends.

 

In addition to his parents Walter and Beatrice Hunter and step-mother, Gladys Hunter he was predeceased by his wife Olga “Dolly” Hunter and his sisters Irene Rulison and Shirley Button.

 

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Faith Baptist Church at 11 AM on July 26, 2021, followed by a burial at 2:30 PM at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.  Relatives and friends are invited to call from 6-8 PM on July 25th at Faith Baptist Church.
