Obituary of Hugh "Fred" Frederick Wallace, Jr.

Hugh Frederick Wallace Jr., “Fred” departed this life to meet his Lord and Savior on July 16th, 2021 at Glendale Home in Glenville, NY. He was 80 years old and was married to his beloved wife Nancy Marie (Hecker) Wallace for 55 years.

Fred attended Draper High School and after graduation joined the Army as a member of the Military Police and served for three years. In November of 1965 he married Nancy Wallace and began his career at Niagara Mohawk. He retired from his job at Niagara Mohawk after over 30 years of dedicated service.

In Fred’s spare time, he enjoyed camping in the Adirondacks as well as traveling across the country in their RV, following retirement. He also found joy by volunteering in his children’s sports, at the Schenectady County Animal Shelter and Proctors, as well as serving on the board at Parkside YMCA. He was a proud member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians in Schenectady County as well as serving on the board at Mohawk Progressive Federal Credit Union

Fred is survived by his wife, Nancy M. Wallace, son Kenneth M. Wallace of Efland, NC, daughters Colleen M. Breault (Brian) of Scotia, NY, Susan E. Shaver (Michael) of Thomasville, NC and Kathleen M. Bellamy (Gregory) of Scotia, NY. Additional survivors include 10 grandchildren, six grand-dogs and six great-grand dogs.

Funeral services for Fred will be held on Friday July 23, 2021 at 12pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville. He was privately laid to rest at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
