Obituary of Eleanor C. McCarron

Eleanor C. McCarron,89, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cambridge Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Florence (Vinicomb) Carr. Eleanor was a graduate of St. Mary’s School in Cambridge, MA and went on to continue her education at Cambridge City Hospital School of Nursing. She married her beloved husband George J. McCarron on August 11, 1956, at St. Clement Church in Somerville, MA. Eleanor and her family moved to Glenville, NY in 1969. After the children were grown, she went to work for Dr. Robert Wiese for 10 years. Retiring to spend time with her grandchildren. Eleanor was a dedicated volunteer for Schenectady Hospice for 20 years. She was a faithful communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society as well as a greeter. Eleanor enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing bridge. Above all, she loved the time she was able to spend with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband George McCarron, children; Patricia McCarron (William Thieke), James McCarron (Sharon), Susan Pennings (Timothy) and Linda Jolly (Michael). Her grandchildren; Meghan Tiernan (Nicholas), Kathleen Danilczyk (Wil), Lindsay McCarron, Rachel DeMonte (Nick), Sara Russell (William), Phillip Pennings (Jessica), Jordan Pennings, Aaron Pennings, Rebekah Brown-Collins (Finn), Leah Beck (Jordan), Anna Fowler (AJ), Joanna Pennings, Scott Thieke (Alissa), Shawn Thieke (Kelsey), Jesse Moskowitz (Daniel) and Joshua Jolly. Her great grandchildren Micheala Pennings, Brynn Tiernan, Liam Pennings, Charlotte Tiernan, Charlie Danilczyk, Luke Russell, Noah Danilczyk, Tessa Tiernan , Mia DeMonte, Rowan Thieke and Patrick Fowler. Eleanor is also survived by her brother William Carr (the late Janet Hamilton) and her sister Janet Hart (the late J. Michael). Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Francis Carr, Jr.
Calling hours for Eleanor will be held on July 21,2021 from 5-7pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 22, 2021, at 11am at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville. Her Mass will be livestreamed on the church’s Facebook page. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glenville.
