Obituary of DeYetta E. Maguire

DeYetta E. Maguire, 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 25, 2021. DeYetta was born on April 9, 1925 in Canajoharie, NY, the loving daughter of the late William and Kathryn (Harbster) Pitcher.

She worked for the Beechnut Foods Corporation at age 16. She met Raymond Maguire (of Lawrence MA) and married, They resided in Schenectady and then East Glenville to raise a family. Deyetta was predeceased by her beloved husband Ray on 5/13/1969.

DeYetta, affectionately known as Dee, enjoyed family gatherings and the companionship of many friends throughout her lifetime. She had a passion for all animals, especially dogs. She went on many trips with family and friends to sunny warm destinations, always harboring an awesome tan! AN AWESOME poker player, she relaxed reading mystery novels. DeYetta was of the Christian Faith.

Besides Raymond, Dee was predeceased by her sister, Kay Grimm. Survivors include a son, Michael Maguire (Janice) of Ballston Lake, two daughters, Catherine Maguire of Ballston Spa and Teresa Maguire of Niskayuna; four grandchildren: Twins, Tyler James and Alexandria Grace Maguire, Brett Addison Maguire and Chelsea Elizabeth DeSalvatore. She also leaves a legacy of two great grandchildren: Eric DeSalvatore Jr. and Jace DeSalvatore; Several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 30th at 12 noon officiated by family friend Rev. Tom Kelly at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. (off Route 50).
