Obituary of David Briggs

David W. Briggs SchenectadyDavid W. Briggs, 55, of Helderberg Avenue, passed away suddenly July 31, 2013 at his home. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Clifford Augustus Briggs and Helen Maloney Briggs. David was a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School and lived in Scotia-Glenville his entire life. For most of his working career David was a truck driver. He worked for American Flat Glass and D.A. Collins. Dave was a longtime member of the Over the Hill Gang (OTHG). He enjoyed going to various motorcycle gatherings throughout the country. He especially enjoyed bike week in Daytona and AM-JAM. David was predceased by both his parents; and his brother, Thomas C. Briggs. He leaves behind his beloved son, Brandon James Earley, his sister, Meranda Earley and their mother, Marcia Ann Earley, all of Ballston Spa; his brother, Michael Briggs (wife, Wendy) of Scotia; his two nephews, Thomas M. Briggs and James Briggs; and longtime friends, MariJo Russell and Kelly Fonda. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, August 9, at 7 p.m. at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., East Glenville. Relatives and friends of David are cordially invited and may also call at the funeral home prior to service from 6 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of David W.
