Obituary of Lawrence A. Boord
Lawrence A. Boord, 71, at peace with his family by his side on August 24, 2021. Larry was cared for by McLoud Seacoast Hospital in Little River, SC. Born in Indiana, PA on July 6, 1950, the son of Richard and Shirley (Williams) Boord.. He was a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School and attended several courses in college . Larry married the former Barbara R. Bohatec on September 14, 1991. He was Vice President of his own company, Illinois Electric Works and was marketing and sales director for the successful company. Larry was a proud and patriotic man with sound faith in his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The family lived on Rector Rd. in Glenville prior to moving to South Carolina. Larry loved the warmth and sunshine of the south. His passions were collecting knives, sports cars, watching NASCAR, camping at Pop's Lake, spending time at OuterBanks of North Carolina. Other interests included following the St. Louis Cardinals, flying kites at the ocean and reading the Bible.
Survivors are his beloved wife, Barbara Boord, cherished sons Jeremy (Brandi) Boord, John (Chevonne) Tobin; beloved daughters, Kelly (Michael) Bock, Jodi Boord (Fiance John Emmitt) and Linda (John) Bass. Larry leaves behind a loving sister, Kathi DiCaprio (late Robert); sixteen grandchildren, a niece, Sara Beck, grandnieces, Alaina Weekes and Ariana Samsundar and nephew Scott Erickson ( Lisa Wells).
The Family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, aids and personnel at McLoud Seacoast for their care and compassion to Larry and his family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 3rd at 10 O'Clock at Faith Lutheran Church, 50 Leversee Rd. Troy with Pastor Danial May officiating. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 2nd from 4-7 PM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Scotia-Glenville.
