Frank and Peggy were our best friends and were parental role models all in one.
Peggy’s favorite holiday was Halloween. She loved to see the children’s costumes and how they had changed over the past year. For Frank and I it meant finding every house that had a buffet in the garage. So it was Mr. Mike’s for chili and Donna’s for artichoke dip, etc.
Dr. Frank saved us numerous trips to the doctor. I best remember our daughter Ashley’s first tooth and the string tied to the door.
Both liked to paint. For Frank that was the outdoors and mountain trails. For Peggy it was the electrical box for the neighborhood and the fire hydrant.
Our projects included all things electrical to cutting down trees. I know that but for Frank’s insistence not tying the ladder to the tree would have resulted in a hospital visit.
Sunday afternoons were for lunch on the back porch and trying to figure out how to keep the squirrels from getting the bird seed.
Frank and Peggy’s morals, values and respect were best shown through their children, grandchildren and our own daughter Ashley. They were the best role models a family could ask for. They were loved by all in the neighborhood, especially Jane, Ashley and me. We will always cherish the times we spent together and the memories we made.

To the Carney Family. This is Jim Donovan. I saw your Dad's obituary in the paper today. My condolences to all of you. My Mom and Dad and Frank and Peggy were the best of friends. They used to have a ball together along with the Clines and Tomassi's and Walkers, but Frank and my Dad were the fishermen and hunters in the group. My older brothers Bob, Dick and Ward first went deer hunting with Frank in Windsor and still talk about it. I have attached a picture and a letter Frank wrote about their fishing expeditions, although we all know it was more about the drinking and just being with one another. Frank and Peggy take up a lot of my memories about growing up. They were a couple of the nicest people I have ever known. I loved those pictures you put up of Frank and Peggy. It is a shame that we never hooked up with them again, but they will always be remembered fondly by the Donovan family. Jim and the Donovan family
