Obituary of Sandra Ann Bishop

Sandra Ann Bishop, 78, passed peacefully at home comforted by loved ones on September 1, 2021. Born in Watertown, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Rita (Guyette) Holley. In 1960, she graduated from East Syracuse High School.

Sandy worked for General Electric as a computer operator during an exciting time in history when we first put a man on the moon. Sandy met Robert G. Bishop through a friend that later became her sister in law, Sharon Bishop. On their date they went to dinner & to a drive in movie, that date led to 56 years of marriage. Together they started  their family in Rome, NY.  They relocated to Syracuse for several years until permanently moving to Glenville, NY where they would raise their family. Later when her children were old enough, she became  a realtor for DORP Homes in Burnt Hills, NY.

Sandy was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being part of their lives. She was a proud American and a member of the local Daughter’s of the Revolution. She faithfully supported Native American children’s charities.

Her family enjoyed taking camping trips to the Adirondacks, Rhode Island and her favorite place was Cape Cod. Sandy loved lighthouses, so much that she collected miniature lighthouses.

Sandy was a gifted singer, she enjoyed singing in her church  at Our Lady of Grace. A devoted parishioner, she was very involved in her community, she was a member of the VFW Post 4660 and crafting club Home Bureau. Sandy was also apart of her church knitting club, she made many prayer shawls over her lifetime; all which she would gift to others. Her delicious cheesecakes will be missed by everyone.

Predeceased by her brother, Jim Guyette.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Bishop; children, Christopher (Kelleah Moon) Bishop, Holly (Nick) Zalar and Mary (John) Pangborn; adored grandchildren, Victoria (Brice) Leonard, River Moon, Louis Zalar, Tim Bishop, Josh Pangborn, John (Chantele) Bishop and Gabriella Pangborn; great-grandchild, Jordan Bishop. As well as her sister in law Sharon Bishop and many nieces & nephews.
