Obituary of Iris Elizabeth Scott

Iris Elizabeth Scott, 63, passed away peacefully in the early hours of September 6, 2021.

Iris was in the room next to her mother at Glendale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Niskayuna on March 30, 1958 she was the loving daughter of Leland and Ivy (Mann) Scott.

A 1976 Niskayuna HS graduate, she attended HVCC to receive her credential for Certified Nursing Assistant.  Iris was a CNA for Glendale Home for 34 years, retiring in 2013. She was caring and attentive to her patients during her career on the second shift. Iris will be remembered as very giving to neighbors, friends and co-workers.  Her home was a central part of her life. An interior decorator at heart, Iris would always contemplate room decor. She collected interesting and unique finds around the Capital District. She was an excellent cook and baked the best shortbread for family and friends. Growing up and throughout her life she enjoyed animals, especially dogs and cats. Iris would take in strays she would find at her workplace.

Predeceased by her father Leland Scott, she leaves behind her mother, Ivy Scott, her daughter, Ashley Heather Goodrich of Valatie and brother, Ken Scott of Albany. Iris affectionately is survived  by her sister-in-law, Greta Petry of Castleton, her niece Kelly Scott and nephew Aaron Scott.

The family will receive callers on Sunday, September 12th 2 to 4 PM at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Scotia-Glenville.
