Obituary of Edward R. Kremzier

Edward R. Kremzier, 93, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2021 at his home. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Max and Margaret (Renner) Kremzier. Edward was a 1946 graduate from Christian Brothers Academy and went on to continue his education at Siena College, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1954. Mr. Kremzier married his beloved late wife Marjorie (Gleeson) Kremzier on August 30,1952 at St. Joseph’s Church in Scotia.

He worked for 37 years at General Electric in purchasing, accounting and corporate advertising positions. He retired in 1985. Edward was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Scotia and served as an usher.  He was a dedicated volunteer for the Scotia Fire Department during which he served as President of the Neptune Engine Company and Chairman of the department’s 100th anniversary event. Both Edward and his wife Marjorie enjoyed being social and traveling. Edward and his family loved the time they spent at their camp on Galway Lake. He often could be found fishing, swimming and snorkeling. Above all Edward cherished the time he was able to spend with his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Edward M. Kremzier (Lisa), Mary Jo Girard and Christopher Kremzier (Juliana). 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews survive.

In addition to his parents, Edward was predeceased by his wife Marjorie J. Kremzier, his son in law Tom Girard and his sister Mary.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 from 9-10am at St. Joseph’s Church 231 2nd St, Scotia, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church at 10am. Masks are mandated. Burial will be at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
