Obituary of Albert R. Yell

 

 

Albert R. Yell, 87, died peacefully September 22, 2021 at Stratton VA Medical Center. Born in Glens Falls, NY on January 21, 1934, he was the son of the late John and Bernadette (De Lorme) Yell. While living in Connecticut he worked and retired from Sikorsky Aircraft where he was a Quality Control Manager

 

Albert helped with his family business, Yell's Bait and Tackle.  He proudly served during the Korean War attaining rank of private first class in the U.S. Marine Corps. He received the National Defense, Korean Service and United Nations Service medals. Al was in the USMCR Recruitment Division until 1960. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many years on Lake Champlain hunting and fishing.  Al enjoyed working for security at Saratoga Raceway and SPAC. He was predeceased by his son Michael R. Yell; siblings, William Ingles, Amos Yell, Mary Harrington, Shirley Rioux and Iris Moore.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Karen Marie McCarthy (husband Kevin) of Southington, CT, his cherished grandchildren: Morgan and Brendan McCarthy and Cody Yell. He is survived also by his nephews, William, Raymond, Gary and Richard Ingles. 

 

Full military honors and burial will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 5th at 12 PM. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Glenville Funeral Home. Online condolences at glenvillefuneralhome.com
