Obituary of Daniel A. Oliver

Daniel A. Oliver, 62, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family at home on September 26, 2021.

Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Frank and Annette Celmer Oliver. Dan is survived by his wife, Karen Gandolfo; his children, Ethan and Sydney Oliver; his brother and sister, Tom Oliver and Susan (Peter) Rogers.

Dan leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Dan attended St. Adalbert parochial school and was a 1977 graduate of Bishop Gibbons High School. He received his B.S. degree from SUNY at Albany.  In the 1980’s he played semi-pro football for the Metro Mallers. Dan worked nearly 25 years in sales for Earl B. Feiden Appliances. Family was central to his life, focused on his children’s accomplishments whether in scholastic or sport activities. Dan carried a similar devotion to his work making customers happy. Daniel enjoyed trying new recipes and cooking for relatives and friends.  He will be missed by all who knew him.  

Relatives and friends may call from 5-8pm (Thurs. Oct. 7) at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Scotia-Glenville. A service will be held at 7:15pm.
