Obituary of Patricia Jean Murphy

Patricia “Pat” Jean Murphy, 82, passed peacefully to be reunited with her beloved husband, Paul, on October 16, 2021. Born in Schenectady, NY, to her late parents Joseph and Jean (Pelczar) Johnson, Pat graduated from Draper High School. 

She received her medical training from St. Clare’s Hospital School and began working in the St. Clare’s Radiology Department as a Nuclear Medical Technician, during this time at St. Clare’s is when she met the love of her life, Paul Murphy. They were married on August 16, 1959 at St. Adalbert Church in Schenectady. They raised their family on Campbell Rd., in Rotterdam, later settling in Glenville. 

Patricia and Paul were inseparable, their love in this world lasted 59 beautiful years before Paul passed in 2017. They explored the world together through traveling and created a loving home for their cherished daughter, Sheila, as well as their grand-daughter, Caitlyn Poole. Family was everything to Patricia; it brings peace to her family knowing Patricia is reunited with her beloved husband for eternity in heaven. 

Fo many years, Pat was a parishioner of the Church of Immaculate Conception. She also enjoyed watching cooking shows, Hallmark channel and had a love for animals, especially dogs.

Predeceased by her husband. Patricia is survived by her loving daughter, Sheila Murphy, and grand-daughter, Caityln Poole, sisters, Carolyn (Leonard) Dariano and Betty (Frank) Robinson; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Archie. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Patricia at the Church of Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road in Glenville on Thursday, October 21st at 10 AM. A procession to Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna for a committal service and entombment will follow Mass.
