Deborah Trawick

Obituary of Deborah Bass Trawick

Deborah Bass Trawick, 62, passed peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on October 22, 2021. Born in Montgomery, Alabama to her late parents, James C. and Buford E. (Andrews) Bass. In 1976, she graduated from Hooper Academy High School.

She married her loving husband, Lt. Colonel Charles L. Trawick, on August 25, 1979. Shortly after beginning their family in Alabama, Charles’ military service brought their family to Knoxville, TN. 32 years ago, they planted roots in the Capital Region, and made Glenville their forever home. There was nothing more important than family to Debbie, she was a proud grandmother.

Debbie was a compassionate, loving woman, she would care for others before herself. As amazing as a mother she was, she opened her heart to caring for others as a nurse. Her nursing career began at Ellis, where she received her nursing degree. As a hardworking “go-getter”, Debbie achieved her Bachelors and Masters in Nursing at Walden University. Recently she retired from Ellis Medicine.

For many years she was a devoted parishioner of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Schenectady. Debbie was also an accomplished pianist, her musical talents were passed on in the family. She will forever be remembered for her positivity, happy spirit and the care she provided.

Predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Jenkins Parrish; as well as her loving son, Charles Taylor Trawick.

To continue her memory is her husband, Charles L. Trawick; loving daughter, Margaret (Jeffrey)Rivenburg; grandchildren, Mikayla and Braden Rivenburg; sister, Brenda Ann (William) Gilbert; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. on Monday, October 25th from 6 to 8 PM. Masks required. Funeral services will be private at the family’s convenience and burial will be at Grace Episcopal Church in Montgomery, Alabama.
